Day 194: Miradouro da Leba – Wild camp north of Cahama
It's back to Lubanga. After two workshops cannot be found or only carry out special activities such as welding, we drive to Toyota. Two of the missing screws are quickly replaced. The third one broke off – it would take more effort to fix that, so let's leave it. The whole thing doesn't cost anything except a few euros for the coffee fund. Totally different here than the Toyota repair shops we've experienced on the west coast.
We drive south towards Cahama, where we want to turn into the wild again. We stay at around 1,200 m altitude and have beautiful views again, even if the landscape is no longer as spectacular. Only issue is: it's not easy to find a place to spend the night – the land on both sides of the road is densely populated, used for agriculture or simply overgrown. Ultimately we end up on a kind of “parking” for trucks, not visible from the road and far enough away from the villages that we don’t get any visitors. The traffic is moderate at night and so we sleep around 9 hours more or less. If we wake up at night, we can just look at the stars – that's wonderful!
