Day 162: Tsaben Beach Hotel – Yaounde
What delicious fish with homemade fries last night.
And what a thunderstorm early in the night. The thunder could be felt like a strong bass in the stomach.
Actually a great location here. Could be a tourist highlight. It probably used to be.
Nevertheless: We decide to head to Yaounde.
For one thing, we are currently running out of power; forgot to plug it in while driving and unfortunately no sun for solar. On the other hand, the weather forecast for the next few days is not great.
The operators are sad that we are driving again. We hear that the area is suffering extremely economically as a result of the six-year-old armed conflict with the Anglophone separatists.
Another long day of driving follows for us – we have too many of them right now. On the other hand, we also want or need to get through the two Congos in a timely manner. The rainy season begins.
We hear from Catherine and Ian in the evening that they too have arrived in Banyo, just in time before it started to rain. Just in time before the red clay dust turns into a complete mess.
We make it to Yaounde and get a hotel – there isn't really any other option.
