Day 143: Abomey
We stay in Abomey for another day to organize something. It's a nice campspot here, although there are occasional power outages and water sometimes only comes from the well, but it's probably better than in Cotonou with the car on the side of the road in front of an accommodation.
First we look for a bank with an emergency generator so that the ATM works. We have to drive a bit to do this and use this to plug in our Adblue pump again. Still works, we can refill something and unplug it again.
Then a few screws have to be tightened and the water filter for extraction has to be replaced.
A little more cleaning and vacuuming (!), fixing the little things and it's afternoon already.
A guest talks about a voodoo ceremony, part of a multi-day event. We consider going with Catherine and Ian, who are now here – but decide against it. We are a bit tired of guides and costs. A donation for the Vodoo King (between 5,000 and 20,000), then something (how much?) for the guide, something for the mototaxi (depending on the route and oh yes, the ceremony takes place in two places), something for taking pictures...
