Day 11: Sunday day trip from the campsite to Tarragona
Today there is a quick start, which we are no longer used to since we stopped working. But the bus to Tarragona doesn't run very often on Sundays and we want to use the morning.
So we experience the city in our drowsy Sunday leisure and – like the residents – only gradually wake up. Today is the Rose Festival, although it's not clear to us whether it's about the flowers or the rosary or both. Nevertheless it's fun to watch the slightly chaotic hustle and bustle. A drum group with great endurance, something like traditional costume dancing with sound sticks, giant figures that seem rather historical, walking jellyfish, squids and dragons, a Madonna that is carried out of the church and back in again.
In between we look at the Roman relics, stroll through the streets and have a good portion of tapas variadas with a beer for lunch!!!
It's still too early for the vermouth that most people have on their table.
In the late afternoon we head back to the campsite to refresh ourselves jumping into the sea. How wonderful!
