Traveling in the southern and eastern countries of Africa

Our third travel episode is headed to East Africa.

We had to rearrange our travel plan because we had to stay in Namibia for four weeks due to some repairs. But, as so often happens, things fell into place: because of the rainy summer here, we wouldn't have been able to drive some stretches in Zambia back in April.

And our good intention to slow down was completely undermined, as our curiosity drove us all the way to Uganda and back to the magical equator.

You never really "get done" with Africa. There's so much to experience, and the distances are vast. This time we've covered around 26,000 km, and over the entire 17 months, we've racked up almost 80,000 km.

But still: we've visited 28 countries. We would have liked to spend more time in some, and we only briefly crossed three (Gambia, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Mozambique).

We experienced a lot, met many wonderful people, learned very much about Africa and ourselves, had a lot of hard work, and just as much fun. A magnificent adventure that enriched our lives.
