Day 63: Dakar – change of accommodation and planning day

Breakfast on the balcony of the Bi Hotel 2, lunch (cereal!) on the roof terrace of the MEAO Guesthouse in Dakar, dinner at a Chinese restaurant – tofu instead of chicken!

And in between?

We took this day in Dakar to be able to calmly think about the next few days and weeks. We changed places and moved to a guesthouse belonging to the Protestant church. We met the manager, Irene Luescher, in the Zebrabar and there was a room available for that night. A comparatively quiet place with a roof terrace, shade and a light breeze – it's a good place to sit during the afternoon. We can relax, plan, wash, shop (a Carrefour, what a luxury) and so we seem perfectly prepared to hit the slopes again tomorrow.

We've had a real slump over the last few days both mentally and physically. Too much dealing with bureaucracy, organization and technology, not enough breaks and enjoyment. And so often the network is so bad, which makes all online activities tedious.

Today we have planned the days in Senegal, Gambia and Guinea up to Conakry. And it seems that our recently drawn up rough schedule still exists and even has a buffer. And we definitely need the buffer time for unexpected events and for breaks.
