Day 147: Cotonou

An everyday life.

Successful testing of the power station. A brief shock when the power goes out and we worry that it has hit the refrigerator. Not another technical problem. But everything is good!

Hang up the third load of the washing machine, mend laundry, sort food boxes, make a new entry on the Foreign Office's crisis list, load tracks for Nigeria onto the navigation system, calculate how much Nigerian currency we need, clean the thermos cup thoroughly, cut Wolle's hair.

Use the WiFi to load a few camera photos.

Downloads of travel information for the Congos and Angola – since we didn't want to drive through in one go, we were a little unprepared.

One last attempt to get a dashcam for the car. Doesn't work. Wolle reactivates the small action camera.

Tonight we actually want to cook again. Recently, the supply of food on the side of the road has been very poor. And in Ghana and Togo we were able to have tasty and cheap meals cooked for us. Here in Cotonou there isn't much to get apart from simple pizza and spaghetti, but on the workshop day we had delicious Chawarma. But you don't like it too often either. And in the evenings it is difficult, the places are more like drinking bars and we think there is a slight alcohol problem. So we have risotto with pumpkin, which we found in the supermarket.
