Day 166: Sembe – Quesso

We spent the night in the village disco, so to speak. Plus a generator for electricity. At around 1:30/2:00 it suddenly becomes quiet. Well, a few hours of sleep were possible.

In the morning we feel a little like monkeys in the zoo because everyone comes to watch us eating breakfast :-)

We continue on asphalt through the jungle.

Myriads of butterflies populate the warm tar and bushes next to the road – it's magical. Far too unstable to be able to photograph them. Unfortunately, one or two of them die at our car, but at least you don't have to feel guilty about having killed the last of their kind.

In Ouesso we get SIM cards, withdraw money (yes, it works, the good Ecobank!) and can refuel – there are long queues of taxis at the only gas station that has petrol and diesel.

We stay in a hotel complex with bungalows, 15,000 for the use of the bathroom. Not a bargain, but the location is nice and we decide to stay here.

Carl joins us later and is allowed to pitch his tent. We will share the bathroom. Good solution.
