Day 138: Ferme Yaka Yale – Towards Lac Togo
If there hadn't been an early rooster, we would have had a really good night's sleep :-)
Yesterday we had a great dinner. Fufu, just right in consistency and neutrality in combination with a spicy vegetable stew. And a kind of spicy polenta porridge with fish. Unexpectedly delicious. We are the only guests staying overnight and the table is set up right next to the car – absolutely idyllic.
There is no great distance to cover today either; we will first drive back to Kpalime to change our remaining Ghanaian Cedis there. Then we head to Lomé in search of a larger gas station, a carwash and a supermarket for a few basics.
We spend the evening and night a little further east with Stephan and George. We met Stephan in the monastery and he invited us.
How wonderful to be here. A cozy place, tastefully furnished, with a lovingly landscaped garden. And a small pool. It's amazing that 31 degree water can be refreshing!
We've noticed over the last few days that the weather is changing and today it's confirmed: the harmattan is easing, visibility is getting better, the dust is settling down a bit, but it's getting more humid and feels warmer. But we had clear starry skies the last two nights. For the first time in weeks.
We have a lovely evening with our hosts and enjoy it very much!
