Day 124: Mole National Park – Offinso
We could waste another day in Mole Park, but we want to get what we hope are the last visas before the weekend in Accra.
We've run out of bread, so we have breakfast and leave before 9:00 a.m. Actually things are going quite well, the road is ok, but many villages and checkpoints are slowing us down.
At lunchtime there is a short break at a waterfall in Kintampo and lunch in the hotel restaurant a few meters away.
Fufu (thick porridge made from cassava or plantain or yam) plus spicy soup/sauce plus fish or meat. Fufu is edible and filling. The fish is delicious, the meat is tough.
By the way, we meet a rather idiosyncratic group of older gentlemen in the restaurant who were on an ornithological discovery tour in Mole Park. In the evening filling out lists and stuff like that :-)
We don't get all the way to Kumasi. After nine hours (including a break) we head to a hotel in Offinso, which is run down. The restaurant that actually belongs to it is closed and we set out again to get something to eat (Joffe – roasted chicken).
