Day 36: Camping Aain Nakhla – Wildcamp Naila
Last night we had a somewhat strangely running conversation with Walid's father about questions of freedom, democracy, the USA's guilt for everything that goes wrong in the world and, of course, religion. We were not able to delve into the topics in sufficient depth to understand how some judgments come about.
Continuing. A little boring today, because from Tan Tan we have a permanent construction site. The expressway to the south is being expanded and that took a good 50-60 km (infrastructure measure Western Sahara, we would say, but the word Western Sahara is actually taboo here, because everything is Morocco). Apart from us and a few freight and passenger taxis, there are primarily heavy trucks on the road, but overall the traffic is manageable.
A bright spot was the late lunch at Tan Tan. A corner restaurant on a busy intersection with around 40 simmering tagines (is that the correct plural?). Since we learned that you should wash your hands before eating, we do that too and another guest gave us the tip to choose the fish tagine. We do that too and the food is fantastic.
And a highlight is the end of the day. We get to know Lionel and Ghislaine (from France, a little older than us) and Lio and Domi (from Belgium, significantly younger than us) on a stretch of coast that is suitable for this night despite the strong wind. The German, English and French sentences just fly through the wind, there is a lot of laughter and jokes – wonderful! And we all want to go south and will definitely meet again.
However, the night becomes a bit restless – because of the wind.
