Day 132: Treehouse B&B – Roots Yard Lodge
Today we want to leisurely continue to the Lake Volta area – by the way, it was German for a short time.
Shortly after setting off, we realized that we had hit something in the rear right tire. How strange, yesterday in the China Mall we also bought a new set of tire repair kits – seventh sense? So go back and mend the tire at the the Treehouse. It's not our first time and Wolle repairs it in no time.
We pass through a number of small towns that have a really wide range of goods. Refrigerators and washing machines, building materials and bathroom equipment, carpenters and metal workers, clothes and toys, not just roots and tubers at the food stalls... All of this points to a certain level of prosperity.
Only the roads are sometimes really bad and a sieve of potholes.
The first option for the night (Aylos Bay Garden Lodge) right on the river is nothing. A coach and a not very nice parking for us. So we move on.
The Roots Yard Lodge is also a bit unique, but we are the only guests, the people are ambitious and cook vegan – but what do the chickens do here if there are no eggs and stuff? We'll stay here and have something cooked for us. It's called Yambalaya.
And there are Sun Birds (hummingbirds) here.
