Day 10: Camping Le Brasilia (at the coast nearby Perpignan) – Camping Las Palmeras (northeast from Tarragona)
We decide to take a further jump to the south – in total the various French motorway sections cost us just under 50 euros. But we also move much faster than on the country road.
There is a brief confusion because a Spaniard frantically stops us on the motorway and says that one of our tires is not ok – we check everything twice and find nothing.
We continue and as we cross the Spanish border the traffic also changes. Of course, more cars because there are no tolls, but everything is also a bit more crowded and urgent. And by the way: There is a lot more rubbish on the streets and in the parking lots – it was much more pleasant in France.
We get to Tarragona and notice that there are apparently more open campsites in Spain than in France. Yesterday we were told that the season in France only extends into September since “post” Corona. In Spain, on the other hand, there have always been “winterers” on the coast. The place is just as huge as yesterday's, not quite as nicely laid out and narrower, but nevertheless – right by the sea it is just great. Off into the wet – we splash around ... And put laundry through the machine twice.
The atmosphere in the evening is fun, there are small (mostly Spanish) groups everywhere, children racing around until midnight, young people singing Dylan and Donovan songs and stuff like that.
Before we go to sleep, take three or four photos - we didn't take any today and something has to happen on this page :-)
And btw: A team of – of course – colored people ensures absolutely clean sanitary facilities around the clock. Yes, really, I met "the pearl" during her toilet check at night and she was much more stylish than me ...
