Day 69: Vélingara – Tambacounda – Wassadu

The longest time this morning is to fill up the water tank. We need about three quarters of an hour.

Meanwhile, we chat with Frank, a Swiss who lives in Namibia and drives a Land Cruiser registered in Botswana. He comes from the south, the opposite direction to us, and we exchange some information.

There isn't much to buy in town, so we drive all the way up to Tambacounda and stock up on what we need for the next few days. It's strange when you take a detour of 20 km to go shopping.

Our destination today is Wassadu and in the afternoon we are already standing under the enchanting old and large kapok trees on the Gambia River, whose origins lie in the east of Guinea.

Since the site primarily offers mini bungalows and the campground is only a small sideshow, dinner is just as mandatory for us as it is for all other guests.
