Day 131: Biriwa Beach Ressort – Treehouse B&B
At exactly 5:00 a.m. the screamer starts from the Announcemant Center, which woke us up the days before. Since we want to leave early, we are only moderately annoyed today.
It's crazy how noisy Africa is for us anyway, with a few exceptions like Mauritania or the natural parks.
Loud music or rather techno noise at night, preferably from different directions. In Muslim countries muezzin calls at four and seven, often from different mosques. You don't walk 20m to talk to someone, you shout loudly across the street. You advertise your goods at the stand. You run advertising loudly because it has to drown out the car traffic, the honking and all the other sources of noise. We sometimes wonder when people actually calm down. Or is it just us who need it?
We first drive towards Cape Coast again and then north to the Kakum National Park. There we do a so-called canopy walk with a view of the rainforest from about halfway up. Thickets below us, giant old trees above us. Very impressive. And because we are there so early, we get an early morning special for a few euros extra (a total of 200 cedis plus 40 cedis / approx. 18 euros), alone with a guide. A nice three quarters of an hour. In the high season, groups can easily consist of 50-100 people. Then you don't want to walk through here anymore. But it's great fun that way.
Then back to Accra. In the China Mall, among other things, a mini vacuum cleaner and a small clip-on fan end up in the shopping cart :-)
A pizza in the early afternoon and later back to Aburi to the Treehouse B&B. We spend the evening with Lio and Domi – our travel plans fit together well for a few days.
