Day 214: Windhoek (Urban Camp – Trans Kalahari Inn)
Drain the water, turn off the refrigerator and clean it, put the bedding away – done. Off we go to the Trans Kalahari Inn, where we will sleep in the room for the last night and park our car.
And then: police check. Apparently driving too fast and allegedly driving in the wrong lane for the trucks. Long discussion and no, we will not pay a bribe for the first time in 7 months on the last day of driving. Then please provide a ticket with a receipt. He probably didn't expect so much resistance.
After Wolle has duly apologized and we politely thank him for forgoing the money, the bastard lets us drive on.
The Trans Kalahari Inn offers Currywurst for lunch, potje for dinner, a wide view of the valley and a fantastic sunset.
