Day 07: Windhoek
Today we're turning our attention to the awning and installing the new cover – which we brought with us. The old cover had a tear from the bamboo crossing in Senegal (!), and the dust had ruined the zipper; no amount of cleaning or spraying would help. We'll use this opportunity to resew the brackets for the tension rod and give them a thorough cleaning. Great. Bernd and Dirk – our camping neighbors – provide helpful support with the assembly and disassembly. Even though the thing isn't actually that heavy, screwing it together is still a bit of a hassle.
The day passes quickly, and between five and six in the afternoon, rain sets in again – today with strong gusts and hail! Crazy.
