Day 60: Breeze River Lodge Campsite – Pioneer Camp (Lusaka)

While making breakfast, we discover that one of the burners isn't working properly – the large cricket that grilled itself the day before yesterday had apparently previously laid its eggs in a thin gas supply tube. It took us a good half hour to get it out again.

That's nature. Frogs in the shower, frogs in the toilet bowl, amphibians and crickets in the gas stove, hippos bellowing at night. It's all there...

Amazingly, we have two German couples with us at the campsite and we chat a bit about our experiences and tips. livinginabox and timefortimeout – we, on the other hand, are quite simply "sailing" under Wolle's name :-)

It's back to Lusaka and once again we realize that everyday things are really time-consuming: We finally need a grease gun so Becky doesn't squeak so much in the leaf springs. Fill up the tank, get Becky washed (a distinctive mixture of red and black clay dust), find an ATM, buy groceries.

A great tip from Samantha is "Greens and Grains," fresh organic vegetables, and especially good bread! "Il Mercato" at the Leopard Hill Mall is also a discovery: good coffee, delicious cookies, and a new shopping basket for Hamburg.

And the day is over.

Oh yes: Today, Brigitte caved for the first time and paid during a speed check (without a receipt), even though it probably wasn't necessary. The speed limit was 40 km/h, but according to the video, we were doing 45 km/h. 600 kwacha (around 20 euros) was definitely a blunder, and even the 300 kwacha we haggled over was way too much. We're out of practice :-(
