Day 113: Starlight Hotel – Rocky Bay Resort

Oh yes, the night was too loud, even with earplugs. And why do night watchmen have to chat right next to sleeping guests and spread the fish leftovers from their nighttime meal all over the floor? Brigitte had rightfully pushed the place aside.

We continue on asphalt and a pleasantly empty road.

In Geita, we top up our SIM cards (a matter of 10 minutes if you already have one) and do a little shopping (at least a few basics). A loaf of bread, a pineapple, and a melon, and we're set for a few days.

Our destination is the Rocky Lake Resort in Busisi, overlooking the lake and Mwanze on the opposite shore, with beautiful rocks on the grounds, a restaurant, and superb bathrooms. And all this for 30,000 TSH a night (just under 10 euros), a bargain compared to Rwanda and Uganda.

By the way: We once again had a stowaway, who didn't look too displeased when we opened the side hatch. However, he was initially suspicious of the unfamiliar terrain :-)
