Day 76: Lumangwe Falls – Chishimba Falls
We skip the third waterfall, Kalungwishi (Kundabwika Falls), and set off.
There's a fairly new tarmac road via Mushota to Luwingu, which quickly takes us across a scenic plateau to the M3 and towards Kasama.
Just before Kasama, we turn off to Chishimba Falls. A surprise:
The small Mutumuna Cascade with a dam for power generation, the Kaela Rapids, and then the actual Chishima Falls – again completely different and again amazing!
It's Saturday, a town nearby, and the area is well frequented by locals. Barbecues are being held, different music is blaring from every car, children are playing, young couples are alone... It's completely different here than the last few lonely days :-)
The infrastructure is limited to restrooms and a "bar." We order corn porridge with fish for 6:00 PM.
And we're happy that Brad has a place for us at Flowers and Ferns Farm starting tomorrow, with Wi-Fi, a shower, and the option to have things washed. It's necessary.
