Day 29: Ghaub Nature Reserve and Farm (nearby Grootfontein) – Taranga Safari Lodge (nearby Rundu)

Second part of the big jump north, covering over 750 km in two days. We've arrived at the border between Namibia and Angola and are looking for a location just west of Rundu. The Cubango (later the Okavango in Botswana) will accompany us east through the Caprivi Strip for the next few days. The Cubango is full, and the water level is expected to rise.

The Taranga Safari Lodge is beautifully situated right on the river; the campsites are large and comfortable, even if we don't have the luxury of private bathrooms or a direct view of the river.

After coffee and exploring the grounds, we jump into the mini pool. Cools the mosquito bites :-)

While we're cooking and eating, the first drops of rain fall and the wind picks up. There's wonderful lightning and thunder in the distance. But we're spared the heavy downpour.
