Day 210: Capetown

Sunday hike in the Silvermine Nature Reserve. From the parking lot at the Dam, up to Noordhoek Peak and back in a loop. Beautiful viewpoints, fynbos with proteas and many other pretty flowers. At around 8 km and a bit of up and down, it's just what we need today.

As we set off, we meet five other hikers – a nice group with people from a variety of backgrounds, from Uganda, Tanzania, Gambia, Sierra Leone, and South Africa. Unfortunately, as so often happens, it remains a brief exchange, which we would have liked to have continued in more depth.

Afternoon coffee is in Kalk Bay. It's a nice place. Sunday hikers and the shops to match, a fishing port with a small fish market and anglers, and restaurants.
