Day 208: Capetown
Today we're taking the classic tour of the peninsula: Simon's Town (pretty old houses, good coffee, nice fabric shop) – Cape of Good Hope (crowded, but with a great view of the lighthouses and the swell) – Cape Point Ostrich Farm (food acceptable) – Olifantsbos Bay (pretty sand dunes, no sign of the shipwrecks) – Scarborough (hm) – Kommetje (with the Slangkoppunt Lighthouse).
There's a traffic jam on Chapman's Peak Drive due to a collision – so we'll skip it for today.
A great day, simply because the landscapes on the peninsula are so breathtakingly beautiful.
By the way: We skipped the penguin colony south of Simon's Town; we'd already had that pleasure on the other side of the bay in Betty's Bay.
