Day 197: De Hoop Nature Reserve

A trip to the sea. A hike across the dunes.

Looking for and watching whales – we spot about seven different ones. Powerful animals. Actually, they're close to the coast, but they're only really good at seeing them with binoculars. Will we ever buy a camera with a similarly good lens?

Anglers catch a ray, but they release it back into the wild. What a catch!

And Wolle mocks our first puff adder. It can be venomously poisonous and even deadly. But we're safely in the car.

Mussels for lunch – we haven't had that in a long time.

A three-course meal for dinner.

In between, lounging around in the lounge. Writing texts, looking through pictures, editing the website.

What a beautiful day. A vacation at the end of our trip :-)

By the way: Our Wild Card applies here too. And we estimate that by the end of this trip, we'll probably have paid no entry fees for about another 30 days in national parks and reserves, because the Wild Card from last year is still valid until the beginning of November.
