Day 107: Augrabies Falls
Today, after a hearty breakfast, we drive into the park, which does have a few animals (giraffe, oryx, springbok), but is mainly impressive because of the landscape views.
There is a detour to Moon Rock, two spectacular viewpoints on the Orange River gorge and otherwise many different colored stones and rocks, particularly impressive: the black colored rocks.
On the way we meet a Dutch couple who have broken down with their 70 series Landcruiser they bought in South Africa 3 months ago. We try to help, but it is only the rangers who were called to help who find the problem: a loose connection on the starter battery.
In the afternoon we are back in the main camp and cool off in the swimming pool like yesterday.
In the evening we treat ourselves to a meal in the restaurant.
