Day 11: Sehithwa – Tsodilo Hills

We forgot how loud it is in the villages at night. The music is nice here, but we still need earplugs.

Filling up the water tank takes time, the pressure is not particularly high for the filters. But we have used a lot in the last few days and are glad that we filled up in the evening, because there is no water at all at the community campsite in Tsodilo Hills.

You can fill up Diesel with a credit card at the gas station, so we put in a more than 100 liters. And then we head north. In Gumare there is a Shoprite that is also open on Sundays – we know the chain well by now. The only thing we can't get is beer on Sundays.

In Tsodilo Hills we only have the option of the community campsite, so it is no longer possible to camp directly by the museum. At the musem are working sanitary facilities, shade and an overall nicer spot. But we have often seen the wrangling over income between the village, the municipality, park operators or those responsible for sights or sanctuaries. Unfortunately, the result is not always conducive to tourism. So instead of two nights, we will only stay one and only do one excursion with a the mandatory guide tomorrow morning.

We still visit the small museum, meet Lopang, who offers to be our guide, then drive back to the campsite and cook a quick meal before it is getting dark again at 7 p.m.
