Day 84: Maroela Campsite – Balule

What we completely missed last night: A hyena circled the Maroela Camp right by the fence, just three meters away from us. Spooky.

After a week as a trio, we are gradually getting used to setting up and dismantling, preparing food, washing up, packing things in the car...

Today we're going on to the Balule Satellite Camp near Olifants. We also have to check in there. We (Wolle and Brigitte) remember the restaurant terrace from 2016/2017: The view over the river is spectacular. Elephants and hippos are great to see.

What else happened today? We're a little tired from yesterday, still completely "stuffed up". Today we see lots of giraffes, only a few elephants, as always various antelopes, a few great birds.

And the wide views of the landscape are just great.

The camp is nice because it's small and away from the hustle and bustle. Nevertheless, we go out to eat because we are too lazy to cook. We are back a few minutes after 6:30 p.m. and are already expected before the gate closes for the night. What happens if you are really late? No idea...
