Day 86: Letaba Rest Camp – Tsendze Rustic Camp

 

It's hot. The sections on the banks of the Tzendze river offer shade and views of the sandy riverbed. Sometimes giraffes and elephants cross. As soon as there are watering holes, elephants drink, hippos bathe and we even see crocodiles.

Tzendze is a so-called rustic camp. No electricity, no infrastructure apart from showers (and wonderful outdoor showers) and toilets. But it's quiet, small and nice. If it weren't for the cicadas. Phew. You have to cook and eat early so you don't have to turn on the lights. Because when there's light, the beasts are everywhere...
