Day 116: Windhoek – Cape Town – Frankfurt – Hamburg

Today Leo and I are going home. Unfortunately we were unable to get any more direct flights from Windhoek than we had booked, so we first have to fly to Cape Town, then to Frankfurt and then on to Hamburg. That means a lot of checks, a lot of waiting and of course a pretty long journey overall.

The flight to Cape Town takes about 2 hours and landing there only works on the second attempt because of the strong wind. Not very pleasant.

We have to go through security checks and border controls again at every airport and that takes a while. So we don't have much time left until boarding for the respective connecting flights begins.

On December 23rd we are picked up from the airport in Hamburg by Astrid, Lara and Brigitte. It's nice to be home again.
