Day 91: Polokwane – Blyde River Canyon Forever Resort
We top up our SIM cards at MTE and drive a bit through the city to find a supermarket that is good for us. We want to do some shopping for the next few days and need a few "European" things. Pick'n'Pay in the Mall of the North has almost everything.
Lunch at Mugg & Bean and coffee for the journey and off we go. We make it to the Forever Resort Blyde River Canyon, i.e. to the northern edge of the panoramic road. We (Wolle and Brigitte) already know it from our previous trip.
Great views of the mountains, a beautiful drive over the Abel Erasmus Pass and a precise landing at the resort. At 700 Rand it is very expensive and certainly not easy to bear in high season due to the incredible size, but it is the perfect location for us.
A quick pasta dish and a small fire to unwind after two long days. And then a quick shower, because a heavy flash of lightning announces a big thunderstorm.
Unfortunately, our right rear tire is losing a little air. It's because of a small cut on the inside. Whether it happened on a piece of metal at the workshop or somewhere else – in any case, we'll have to keep an eye on it and replace the tire if necessary. Stupid. The rear tires haven't been on for long.
