Day 45: Squamish - Powell River

Early in the morning we're going to pack up the tent quickly and have breakfast at Tim Hortons, as it starts to rain as announced.

But the rain stops soon. Today we want to ride to the Sunshine Coast and hope to find real sunshine there.

As we wait for our ferry at the ferry dock in Horseshoe Bay, it starts to rain again. Fortunately, we have some shelter here and it stops after some time again, so we are not getting wet.

The ferry crossing to Langdale is entertaining. We talk to a motorcyclist with a dog who had been waiting for the ferry with us allready.

We are riding from Langdale to Earl's Cove, with a detour to the "Skookumchuck Narrows". Apart from the fact that the footpath to the narrows is about over an hour (one way) and that is not convenient in motorcycle clothes, returning tourists also tell us that due to the low tide there's not much to see anyways.

The crossing from Earl's Cove to Saltery Bay takes a bit longer and we enjoy it on the sundeck with views of wonderful islands and mountain landscapes.

We're looking for a campground on the way to Powell River, so we stock up our supplies at the first grocery store, but on the way to Powell River we can not find a nice campingspot and end up in Powell River. There's a quite big and good organized private campground. We choose a campsite next to two families with a total of 6 small children.

In the evening we enjoy the luxury of a hot shower.
