Day 30: Watson Lake - Liard River Hot Springs

We still have breakfast together and are leaving early. My ride is not so far today with about 250 km.

First I have to buy a new light bulb in Watson Lake. It's always fun to ask around here until you are sent to a store where you find what you need.

On my trip on the #97 there were some animal encounters today. Three groups of bison today, the bulls are really huge animals. I also saw a bear with a baby, pretty close to the road. Amazingly, the bears use a tunnel under the road to cross it. Really smart.

Short insertion: There are really many wild fires, it's very smokey. I hope that will not cause me any problems with my onward journey.

I'm very lucky with the campground at the hot springs, I get a nice site there, then I explore what the store at the gas station offers and then I have luck again, because just back at the campground entrance, a local woman comes around with her homemade bakeries and I get three pieces of delicious apple pie.

Now it's time for a bath, the springs are said to have been open all night.

Wonderful, these hot springs and a nice facility. I am clean and warmed up again. Pure enjoyment! After dinner I go to bed early, expecting to take a bath in the early morning.
