Day 04: Calgary and small tour

The first item on the agenda today is picking up the bike. I call a taxi and arrive at Air Canada Cargo fairly early. First of all, I receive the documents with which I have to go to customs, which fortunately only resides a few buildings further. I'm there just before the opening hours of customs and so I'm served first. The customs officer just has to put a stamp on the documents, that's it.

Back to AC Cargo. There I have to pay 90 CDN $. In the storage building the motorcycle is driven up with the forklift truck. The foil and the packing net are already removed. Now only the fixings have to be loosened again.

I have to repack my panniers, which costs the most time, but already after about an hour I ride out of the hall.

The first way goes to the next gas station, because I'm driving on reserve.

Then I go back to Trevor's apartment. First I have to repack the panniers completely and sorting out takes time.

The evening before Trevor had suggested to me a day trip, which I ride then. A nice tour that leads me to the Rockies, but also into a thunderstorm and another rain shower.

I arrive in his apartment just before Trevor. He's preparing a snack, as we have not eaten much during the day. Then we drive into town and buy some things in an outdoor shop, among others mosquito repellent and bear spray for me.

After a short walk along the river, we go to dinner in the city, but are soon back in the apartment. Trevor still wants to pack and then ride to work with his bike the next morning, where I will meet him and we continue to ride together towards the Rockies.
