Day 29: Atlin - Watson Lake

In the end, we do not need pepper spray or firearms against the bears, Dave's loud snoring also helps ;-).

Dave and I explore the village of Atlin on the way back and even get an delicious coffee, produced by ecologically standard, at a coffee booth at the lakeside.

We meet a couple of people who have been cruising the Yukon for three weeks with a motorized canoe. From here you can probably hike to a glacier. Great area for outdoor activities.

On the way back we make a short stop at a place with a great panoramic view. I'm taking some nice photos with a view over the lake. Suddenly, 20 meters distance from us, I see a black bear crossing, which then notices us and makes his way elegantly.

Today's ride heads for Watson Lake, at Jakes Corner, where return to #1, the Alaska Highway, and have some lunch there. I have to write a few emails, for example to Air Canada Cargo. Soon we're joined by a Canadian motorcycle rider, Steve. Today's campsite is a private RV campground (RV = recreational vehicle), we eat quite delicious in the restaurant and have a few beers. Steve sleeps in a hammock under a tarp, Dave and me are setting up our tents and probably sleep better than Steve.

The two of them will continue to the Cassiar Highway tomorrow, which I came up with Trevor.
