Day 23: Anchorage - Denali / Riley Creek Campground

I leave very early to get my visor at "The Motorcycle Shop" and hopefully get the service on my bike there (which should be possible there too) - good idea, I'm almost the first one. 159 US dollars for rear tire change, oil change and oil filter change including oil, that's ok for me. I also get a new visor here. So this visit is a complete success. At noon, I return to the campground and remove my tent. I had left it because I was not sure if everything works out. Unfortunately it's raining again.

Towards 2pm I start in the direction of Denali National Park. The approximately 400 km I have to ride quickly for arrivoing at a reasonable time. Unfortunately it rains again and again - not very pleasant. At 8:30pm I reach the Riley Creek Campground and get just one site left - unfortunately only one night guaranteed. In the morning I will have to check, if I can stay for a second night. So I have to be at 7:00 am at the check-in of the campground again to check this, at 8:00 am the bus ride to the park starts. I have booked a bus tour, because you are not allowed to drive into the park with your own vehicle. That will be a bit challenging tomorrow morning.

In the evening, I chat with my young American neighbor, who spent some days in Denali Park, and we are already testing the whiskey I bought today. Warms up nicely in the cool and humid weather. Again I'm in bed after midnight.
