Day 44: Lillooet - Squamish
As already written, the night was restless. Nevertheless we are awake early and take breakfast. Wolles mother has survived the surgery and we decide to continue our journey as planned. But first Wolle has to work a bit.
Today sun and warmth again and a quite good view. A lot of big mountains here, a landscape with glacier-covered peaks.
At Joffres Lake we do a short walk to the lake, the perfect postcard motif: blue water, green vegetation and mountains with a glacier in the background! But it is also very crowded here, and people are struggling about parking lots.
Next stop is in Pemberton for lunch at the picnic area in front of the Visitors Information.
The ride towards Whistler offers fantastic views of really magnificent mountain panoramas. However, we realize that we are tired and ride to the campground at Alice Lake Provincial Park. Unfortunately it's complete. And so we end up in Squamish for the night on a simple private campground. After we set up the tent, we go shopping. For dinner we get fresh noodles.
Wolle removes and roughly cleans the air filter of the bike. The engine was not running well a few times today.
Something annoying: we seem to be near a shooting range ...
What's nice: our campground neighbors bought some crashed ice, so we can cool down our last beer and they give us another can of their beer.
