Day 02: Sinsheim - Frankfurt - Sinsheim

Today I had to deliver my motorcycle to Air Canada Cargo in Frankfurt. In the morning I finally packed the bags as they should be, only boots and motorcycle pants should later be put into a pannier and normal pants and shoes have to be exchanged.

The first difficulty was to run down the fuel so that the reserve lights comes up. If you want to do so, then the fuel lasts forever! But with a small detour past the airport, I finally made it.

At gate 26 of the airport you will find a reception with a parking lot in front. First I change my clothes in the shadow, because it is very hot again. So I already have everything on the bike as planned. The reception gives me a short description. Air Canada Cargo is very easy to find.

All the windows are open there and the staff greets friendly as I approach. Once it is clear who I am, I have first to pay my bill and get some paperwork in return. Then I have to ride the motorcycle to the back entrance, because only there a motorcycle can be delivered. It ride straight into the hall.

The luggage is checked by a specially trained security manager. You have the choice to take off the suitcases and everything that is to be attached to the motorcycle and put it on a pallet and get it rayed or go through everything by hand. I decide to remove the suitcases. It's easier. I have to open a suitcase after all, because the tool is too close together. But no problem.

There must be no adhesives or batteries in the luggage of the motorcycle and of course everything else that is otherwise prohibited.

With the help of the employees, I push the unloaded motorcycle onto a pallet. Immediately the stuff starts lashing the bike. My bike stands on the main stand. The stuff have routine and I hardly think that something could go wrong.

Finally, the entire package will be apparently still wrapped with plastic, so it is noticeable, if someone wants to steal something from the luggage.

Finally, I get the stamped document that I need to pick up the bike in Canada.

That was it. The whole procedure took just over an hour. I chat a bit with the staff, as a rain shower comes down.

Then I take a bus, which is probably an internal airport bus, but regularly runs from gate 26 to Terminal 1. Incidentally, Terminal 1 will also handle Air Canada flights.

Unfortunately, I miss a good connection at the train station and am therefore it needs quite a long time to return to Sinsheim.
