Day 37: Hanceville - Wells Grey Provincial Park
We get up early to say goodbye to Juri, who is appointed with a mechanic early this morning to get his tractor's mower back up and running.
For breakfast Irinel makes delicious waffles. Tasty with maple syrup and the homemade jams!
At 9am we set off, first the road back to Williams Lake. Smoke again today. At some point along the way, we stop at a restaurant/snack bar. Three young people caring about the place, who, as we enter, are all bent over their smartphones. One of them is a French student who also has a motorcycle at home and asks us curiously about our trip.
The sandwiches are delicious and after the short break we continue to Clearwater, our refueling and shopping stop, before heading north into the park. We decide to ride as far as possible into the park first to get a campsite on the lake. The Clearwater Lake Campground actually has a few sites left and so we set up our tent. Although not directly on the lakeside you can hear the noise of the nearby water cascades. Great! First we take a walk to the lake and decide to take a refreshing cold bath. We have dinner (canned chicken soup with bread and beer and then some cookies) and head for another walk to a viewpoint. But it's getting twilight already and we don't carry the bear spray with us and the mosquitos getting more and more. So we return without making it to the viewpoint.
Thanks to the sleeping bags attached to each other, the higher temperature and the soothing noise of the water cascades, we sleep very well.
