Day 21: Akranes – Skógafoss

Today the weather report for the area around the volcano in Geldingadalir is good and so I decide to make a second attempt to see the volcano. That's why I'm saying goodbye to my new Israeli friends early this morning.

I'm not interested in Reykjavík. I hope that someday there will be another opportunity to return to Iceland and then see the capital as well. So I'm passing by Reykjavík and choose the direct route to the volcano.

The weather is really good today and so this trip gets an unique experience. The forces of nature under the earth are demonstrated here very impressively.

At some point, however, I have to leave because I still have to make some kilometers.

On the way I visit my Icelandic hosts from last weekend, who are again working hard on the new house. I just stay for saying goodbye and thank them again for their hospitality.

Of course, Guðmundur gives me some more tips on what to see and where to stay the next few days.

Unfortunately, I can't make it so far today that I get to a campsite recommended by Guðmundur. I set up camp for the night at the foot of Skógafoss, a waterfall that is worth seeing.
