Opuwo – Epupa Falls

There was singing to be heard throughout the night. What we interpret as a party is the funeral service for a deceased, as the campsite operator tells us in the morning. Nevertheless, we slept well.

Btw.: Warm water is produced here, as well as in some other places, by means of a kind of bathing stove (donkey system). You have to ask for it around 30 minutes in advance.

Opuwo is a hustle and bustle, the begging children are a bit annoying. We do our shopping, fill up the tank again, eat a sandwich at the place we went to three years ago and then continue north.

The route is a bit boring, but apart from what feels like 100 river bed crossings, it is easy to drive.

And the Epupa Falls are impressive again. Roaring noise. We get a spot right on the shore – wonderful.

The restaurant is closed, but we have enough groceries with us and have still a cold drink. So we enjoy the evening. For the next day we book a guided walk and the laundry service.
