Day 26: Krasnoyarsk
I wake up early, so I can sort out some of my pictures. And during the day/night I'm able to upload a few pictures.
The day passes by quite relaxed. My two biker friends are not really active and our hosts must both work.
The young biker is studying something with which he can only find work in the military, what he doesn't want. And so he dreams about opening a motorcycle workshop somewhere. We talk with the help of translation programs of our smartphones and computers. And this way we are even able to exchange views on political and social issues.
He tells me in the evening that he has a critical opinion about the annexion of Crimea and was expelled from school for this reason. A friend of him has been sentenced to two years' imprisonment for sharing a critical link on the Internet.
Exciting however, that we're are hosted from our hosts, although - I believe - they have a different political view.
The young pillion is studying something like a secretary for lawyers, and it seems as if she doesn't like to do so, but she has no real choice in terms of her circumstances.
I'm told, that employees in the medical field only earn 260 Euros a month.
The apartment here is large but quite simple - according to our standards - and everything's more modest. But my hostess was already travelling to Vienna, Prague and Dresden - obviously standard targets of the Russians.
In the afternoon we take a the bus to the center, but the city is not really nice. And since the weather is rainy, we return very soon again.
I will continue into direction to Barnaul tomorrow and already booked my hotel there. I am curious about how my journey will continue and what I will expect in Kazakhstan.
