Day 33: Taldyqorghan - Charyn River Canyon

It is already in the morning of the next day: I still enjoy the view into the canyon (Brigitte hears the noise of insects on the audio). The wind was strong in the night and I had to brace the tent so it's no so noisy anymore. So the night was a bit restless. Nevertheless, a splendid place - if we would be here together, Brigitte, we would stay here for another day.

But back to the day: Ilja is already gone in the morning, but left me a message on my bike. I slept well and I'm not in a hurry - only450 km to go to a place at the Charyn river canyon, which Jane and Pete have recommended to me for the night.

I ride into the mountains first and through a vast plain with wide views into a nature reserve. From my guidebook it's not sure, if you can enter the nature reserve at your own, but I decide to try it. The dirt road is rather bad and I have to be very careful. The sightseeing points seem not this interesting and they are in a distance of about 40/50 km of bad dirt road. But when you have started once - my detour finally lasts about 3 hours.

As I approach the canyon I buy some stuff for preparing dinner, but I'm a bit stupid and don't attach the bags properly and so I loose the tomatoes and peppers with the exception of one pepper. Now, must be enough for dinner with the noodles.

In the valley of the canyon there is a hotel ruin, but the place there is not very pretty and it stinks. And so I pitch up my tent above the canyon with a wonderful view - like a dream.
