Day 05: Tscheboksary - Kasan - Ufa

I am early awake and put some stuff on the motorbike before the breakfast, which leads to some excitement because the receptionist and the caretaker think I want to leave without returning the room card. Amazing, the people are talking in Russian to you and don't care that you obviously don't understand anything. This is different to China, where people already assume that you will not understand them. Also the Russians does not get the idea of using some sign language. They are really not used to dealing with strangers.

Breakfast is not the best, the hotel in fact has some kind of socialist charm and so it's no surprice that I would have to pay for a second cup of coffee.

Today I will "loose" two hours of time. And since I will have to work a bit in the evening, it it's a bit of a struggle against time. Therefore I'm pushing forward.

Short break in a "Kafe", so the small inns are called in Russia. Soljanka, maccheroni with kotlet (minced meatballs), dessert. Fed up.

In Ufa I checked into the hotel "President" in the evening. Have some English-speaking staff and is located very quiet (I will not go to the city center anyway).

On arrival, I had a nice conversation with a young, fluent English speaking receptionist, who advised me to take a room on the 7th floor.

From there I have a really great view from a roof slant window. Next door there's a restaurant with summer terrace. The young service woman has problems to understand English, but then it seems, she's preparing every time she comes to my table - very nice. Today I'm having my first beer for dinner and since I am tired and exhausted, I'm a bit drunk immediately (what was obvious from the selfie, Brigitte notes here).

For the first time quite relaxed.
