Day 09: Barnaul - Day at the workshop
We should be between 9 and 10 at the place where Andrew wants us to change tires. When we arrive, nobody is there. We are in a kind of small commercial area with many small shops. At about 10 o'clock, the mechanics are arriving. In Russia the day seems to start a bit later. Already was wondering about the problmes to get an early hotel breakfast.
In the workshop, everything will be repaired with a motor, lawnmowers, motor scythes, scooters ...
Insertion: Our new tires we got sent by Denis Panferov, who distributes motorcycle tires all over Russia from Moscow.
We have to remove and install the wheels ourselves, Andrew changes the tires then. My fellow travelers also do oil changes and take care about the chains. All in all, it's going to be 10 tires and all sorts of other minor maintenance work.
My repaired tire is unfortunately done, it has become too hot and so I have to order a new rear tire for the return trip.
Coincidentally I'm leading the group today on the way to the workshop and back - for me a completely unfamiliar feeling to be ahead of four fellow riders and keeping an eye on them.
Back at the hotel, we order pizza at a delivery service - it takes a long time and we are almost starved when it arrives.
Then we buy some provisions for the next days, because we do not know how the supply situation in Mongolia will be and so we can also do some camping.
For the first time, I used the Google Translate app with picture of products at the supermarket for translating the product labels. And so we make sure that in this can is really beef.
We enjoy a relaxed evening and I'm doing some documentation of the first days of the journey.
