Meteorite Camp – Tsumeb – Namutoni
The supermarket in Tsumeb is already much more "regional" in it's offers and the gas station is not quite as "chic" anymore. We still think of what we need for the days in the Etosha, because from our trip to South Africa we have learned that the shops in the national parks are not so well equipped.
After Tsumeb we have a picnic at the karst crater lake Otjikoto.
When entering the Etosha National Park near Namutoni, we face the full paperwork for the first time. At the gate you have to fill your data into a list for the first time. At the reception you have to do it again for the permit and again for the camp site. Permit and camp site must be paid separately. You cannot book in advance for the other campsites at Namutoni reception. At least we get information that there are enough campsites available in Halali and Okaukuejo (of course without guarantee!). Wolle calls Olifantsrus, a very small camp site, to reserve a spot for our 4th night in the park. The name "Kleinbach" is a challenge for every Namibian receptionist and it later turns out that the reservation did not work either.
After all this has been clarified, we drive around the Fishers Pan, where we see a lot of giraffes and zebras.
