Day 02: Rosenheim – Sonnleitn

Unfortunately, the breakfast is only mediocre and we soon set off for Austria. We will avoid to buy a highway sticker for Austria and drive over country roads. The weather is good and we have great views. Since we're early and don't have to drive that far, we decide to take the detour via the Großklockner. The last time we drove this road was quite a while ago.

We have a snack for lunch at the Edelweißspitze. At Franz-Joseph-Höhe we have a coffee break and get a huge cake, called a pyre, which reminds us more of a glacier on the mountain.

We reach Sonnleitn shortly before 6 p.m. and move into our apartment. Since the Hapimag motorcycle week is currently taking place here, the restaurant is occupied later in the evening and therefore we have dinner already around 7 p.m.

We have an apartment on the top floor of one of the older, typically Austrian style houses, each with 6 apartments.
