Venice
Morning swim in the sea, then cappuccino, brioche, arancia spremuta for a change in another bar.
We start far north and walk towards Dorsoduro – the trigger is the search for a pasticceria, where we bought very tasty cookies 5 years ago. Unfortunately closed. In between tramezzini, cappucino, espresso, almond cake ... We buy pasta con sepia nero and Venetian biscuits (busola). And we visit the roof terrace of the Fondaco dei Tedeschi – wonderful view (we pre-booked yesterday due to limited access only with an online ticket).
For dinner we find a wonderful restaurant on Campo S. Giacomo dell’Orio/Santa Croce (Taverna Capitan Ancino). A nice atmosphere – playing children and teenagers, supermarket visitors, locals who all somehow know each other, tourists. We are told that an overnight stay in a new hotel on the site costs 150 euros per person – such changes will drive the last Venetians away in the long term.
