Wednesday: Stemnítsa - Stoúpa

Stemnítsa - Karítena - Megalopolis - Mistrás - Kalamata - Kardamíli - Stoúpa

Visited the monastery Pródromou, it is very spectacular built into the rocks. What troubled souls, who chose these places and ways of life ... and these men used to dictate the rules of society - this ignorance of half the population still makes me angry rather than compassionate. The only monk we see is very friendly and offers us some coffee, while paying a small souvenir and a 2-euro donation, he avoids the slightest contact with me. That's the way they are, these funny monks.

Mistrás is a Byzantine city, built from 1245, at its height of 42,000 inhabitants (!) And today completely abandoned except for a monastery and some almost intact churches. We are just taking a short tour, we have seen enough ruins and churches and monasteries for now.

Hotel Kastro in Stoúpa, rooms with sea view and balcony for 60 €. The operator has lived in America for a long time and is very nice.
