Aráchova - Lamia - Karditsa - Trikala - Kalambaka - Kastraki

Over the mountains to the north, it is getting cold. In winter apparently THE ski resort of the Athenians. In a small place (Anávra) excellent lunch (fried cheese, tomato salad, potatoes and meat slices baked with cheese and beef in tomato sauce). Wolle figured out ("You decide, we eat"), that the landlady has decided for us. And we only paid 15 € for it!

Overall, the food is very good.

The people are incredibly nice. The hotel owner waved a goodbye us in the morning, people showed us the way to the restaurant in town, in Kalambaka several people tried to find a charger for the battery of our camera - albeit in vain. And the owners of our hotel in Kastraki are always joking and offer coffee for free. In the guesthouse Patrakis we have to pay 45 € and the next day we even change into a larger room without extra charge.

In the afternoon a first excursion to the Meteora monasteries, which are sitting really spectacular on top of some rocks. Since late afternoon, the monastery Agia Triada is not crowed anymore. Very nice small and harmonious church rooms with frescoes. Very nice atmosphere. Hard to imagine that a scene was filmed here for a James Bond. But maybe that helped a little bit with the renovation.
