Day 05: Burgos – Salamanca

What a lousy, cold, damp night. 6 degrees [Celsius] and humidity coming off the river.

We’re in need of a quiet day, so we’re only traveling as far as Salamanca—about 250 km away. We’ve booked two nights at Camping Don Quijote in Cabrerizos (though that actually wasn’t necessary) and also reached out to the restaurant in advance (which is highly recommended).

So, today gives us a chance to upload photos, write in our journals, and read a few pages. It’s also a good time to air out our bedding and mattress—something that’s definitely needed after six days and nights on the road, some of which were very wet and cold…
